Miele Appliance Maintenance Tips
Miele engineers their appliances for 20 years of life — but only when properly maintained. Follow these tips from our Miele-experienced technicians.
Use Miele's Maintenance Wash Programme Monthly
Miele W1 washers have a dedicated maintenance programme — run it monthly with the drum empty. This clears soap scum and biofilm and protects the ProfiEco motor's life.
Clean the Miele Dishwasher Filter Weekly
G7000 and G6000 dishwashers have a removable filter at the base. Rinse and brush weekly. Skipping this clogs the wash pump and triggers F-codes.
Refill Miele PowerDisk and Salt Promptly
AutoDos requires the PowerDisk to be in place — refill before it fully empties. Salt should be topped up monthly. Hard Gauteng water destroys heating elements without it.
Vacuum Miele Fridge Coils Every 6 Months
Even premium Miele fridges suffer when coils are dust-clogged. Vacuum twice a year to keep MasterCool / DynaCool fans running cool and quietly.
Don't Overload Miele W1 Washing Machines
Miele drums are generously sized but the rated capacity matters. Overloading wears bearings faster and stresses the ProfiEco motor.
Use Miele-Approved Detergents
Miele's TwinDos system is calibrated for Miele's UltraPhase liquids. Using cheap supermarket detergent in TwinDos can clog the dispensing pump and trigger faults.
