Bosch Appliance Maintenance Tips
Bosch appliances are built to last — but only with the right care. Follow these maintenance tips from our Bosch-trained technicians to keep your dishwasher, washing machine and fridge performing for years to come.
Clean Your Bosch Dishwasher Filter Weekly
Bosch dishwashers have a removable cylindrical filter at the base. Take it out, rinse under warm water, scrub with an old toothbrush. Skipping this is the leading cause of Bosch E22 errors and dishes coming out unclean.
Run a Bosch Drum Clean Cycle Monthly
Modern Bosch washing machines have a 'Drum Clean' or 'Service' cycle. Run it once a month with the drum empty, no detergent, on the hottest setting. This clears soap scum, biofilm and limescale.
Check the AquaStop Hose Annually
Bosch's AquaStop is a brilliant safety system but the hose itself can age. Inspect for kinks, cracks or hardening once a year. A failed AquaStop hose triggers E15 and shuts the machine off mid-cycle.
Vacuum Bosch Fridge Coils Every 6 Months
Dust on the rear or kick-plate coils forces the Bosch compressor to run hotter and longer. Twice-yearly vacuuming lowers energy use and extends compressor life. Check the door seal at the same time.
Use Salt and Rinse Aid in Your Bosch Dishwasher
Bosch dishwashers detect soft, medium and hard water and dose accordingly — but only if the salt reservoir and rinse-aid dispenser are kept topped up. Hard Gauteng water destroys heating elements without proper salt levels.
Don't Overload Bosch Washing Machines
Bosch drums have generous capacity but the rated load applies. Overloading wears the brushless EcoSilence motor sensors and drum bearings. Spread heavy laundry across two cycles.
